IBS Alliance Sdn Bhd / Poul Mork Design is a design consultancy company which was set up as a response to the Singapore and Malaysian Government’s drive for Industrial Building Systems or IBS for the local construction industry. We provide IBS technical and architectural consultancy services useful for developers, architects, engineers and the contractors who wish to adopt the IBS construction method into their assignments. The purpose is to save time and cost and achieve the high quality of the finished projects. The principle of Poul Mork Design is Mr. Poul Bannow Mork, a Danish architect with more than 40 years experience of IBS designs. Associated with Skaarup & Jespersen from Denmark, Mr. Mork has successfully designed and implemented many IBS projects in Europe, the Middle East, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. Mr. Mork has more than 17 years experience and practices in South East Asia, especially in Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Singapore. Services Provided Concept Design Optimization The Concept Design is the most critical stage in a project and defines both the economics and the buildability for the job. Poul Mork is able to work together with the developers, architects, engineers and contractors to formulate the most favorable design parameters and establish concept design developments in line with the most favorable IBS direction. Value Engineering Value Engineering for IBS construction methods is a common accepted practice in USA and Europe but is relatively new in Asia. Poul Mork has the necessary experience and is well equipped to introduce this concept in the region after initially having successfully implemented IBS projects in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Sri Lanka. Design Review Review and fine tuning of architectural and structural designs to improve the buildability of the project. Buildability is a critical consideration that comprises the architectural and structural design coordination for larger projects in particular. Quality Auditing Before and/or during the construction, it is useful and often necessary to ensure the quality control of the manufacture and installation of the IBS products used for the project .Poul Mork Design provides such auditing services to check and monitor that the proper quality control is being exercised by contractor and supervisors.
